About Hello Consumer

Built on the other side of the stand. We've stood where you're standing.

Hello Consumer was started by Ben and Roger after years of selling face to face at consumer events — the early set-ups, the quiet hours, the weather, the last push before the gates close. We built the company we wished we could have hired: one that plans the numbers, trains the team, sells hard and shows you what is happening while it is happening.

Why we started

Too much was being invested for sales to be left to chance.

We started Hello Consumer after years of working face-to-face at consumer events, retail activations and exhibitions. We repeatedly saw brands invest in stand space, stock, travel, marketing and accommodation, then rely on people who had received minimal training and no clear commercial target.

At the same time, valuable selling hours were being lost to van hire, loading, setup, stock checks and pack-down. Events were being treated as isolated staffing jobs rather than complete commercial operations.

Hello Consumer brings those pieces together. We review whether the opportunity makes sense, build the sales plan, prepare the people, manage delivery and measure what happened.

The principle behind the business

The people representing your brand should understand the customer, the product and the numbers — and take ownership of the outcome from the first plan to the final report.

Customer experience comes first

We listen, understand and recommend. Strong relationships create trust, and trust creates sustainable sales.

Commercial honesty matters

We will not pretend every event is right. Product fit, audience, costs and realistic sales capacity all matter.

We act like a partner

Your targets become our targets. Your customers are treated with care. Your brand is represented with pride.

The complete model

One team around the whole event.

Our role goes far beyond supplying people. We connect commercial planning, training, event delivery, logistics and reporting so every part supports the same result.

Stage 01

Assess the opportunity

We review the event, audience, product fit, expected costs, margins, break-even point and realistic capacity before recommending a plan.

Stage 02

Build the sales plan

Targets, staffing, stock, pricing, offers, customer journey and hourly expectations are agreed before the doors open.

Stage 03

Recruit and train

We prepare the team around your brand, products, audience, qualification questions, objections, closing and customer care.

Stage 04

Deliver and sell

Our team starts conversations, demonstrates, samples, qualifies, closes, captures leads and protects the customer experience.

Stage 05

Manage the operation

We coordinate collection, transport, stand setup, stock control, daily checks, breakdown and return where required.

Stage 06

Report and improve

We review revenue, conversion, average order value, stock, leads, customer feedback and practical improvements for the next event.

Commercial thinking before commitment

Know what success needs to look like before you book.

Our approach starts with honest numbers. The free Event Success Calculator helps brands test true event cost, break-even sales, profit scenarios, stock requirements and practical daily targets.

  • Calculate true event break-even and return on investment
  • Turn revenue goals into daily and hourly sales targets
  • Compare conservative, expected and best-case outcomes

What we measure

Performance is more useful when everyone knows what the numbers mean.

Quality conversationsAre we reaching and engaging the right customers?
Conversion and average order valueWhere is performance being won or lost?
Profitability and repeatabilityShould the event be repeated, improved, renegotiated or stopped?
Why we are different

A sales company, not a promo company.

The difference is not just how the team looks on the stand. It is how the opportunity is assessed, how people are prepared, what they are accountable for and what happens after the event.

Traditional promotional staffing

Minimal product preparationStaff may receive a short brief immediately before trading.

Our people

We recruit for attitude. We develop for performance.

Great event salespeople need energy, resilience, curiosity and the confidence to start genuine conversations. We look for the right raw qualities, then build product knowledge, structure and commercial awareness around them.

Training does not stop once the event opens. Hourly performance, customer responses and conversion gaps create opportunities for immediate coaching — while there is still time to improve the result.

What guides us

Four values. Every event.

These principles shape how we choose opportunities, prepare teams, speak with customers and report back to clients.

Customer first

Helpful, human conversations come before pressure. The sale should feel like the right outcome, not a forced one.

Commercial clarity

Numbers, targets and honest expectations shape every recommendation we make.

Take ownership

We solve problems, protect the brand, manage the detail and stay accountable from preparation to pack-down.

Keep improving

Every conversation, conversion gap and event report should make the next decision and the next team stronger.

Ask us something specific
What does Hello Consumer do?+

Hello Consumer provides professional event sales teams, retail activations, trade show sales support, commercial planning, logistics, stand setup, stock management, sales coaching and performance reporting across the UK.

How are you different from a promotional staffing agency?+

We are built around selling and measurable commercial outcomes. Teams are recruited, product-trained and coached to create conversations, qualify customers, handle objections and close sales. We look beyond staffing hours to revenue, conversion, average order value, leads, stock and ROI.

Do you offer performance-based event sales?+

Performance packages, profit-share and cost-recovery models may be available where the product, audience, margins and event economics are a strong fit. We review the opportunity before recommending a commercial structure, and we will say so if the numbers do not work.

Can you manage event logistics and stand setup?+

Yes. We can manage collection, transport, delivery, professional stand setup, breakdown, loading, unloading, stock handling and return after the event. This allows the sales team and client to focus more time on customers and revenue.

Where in the UK do you work?+

Hello Consumer is based in the UK and supports suitable consumer events, retail activations, trade shows and exhibitions nationwide. The final plan depends on venue, dates, travel, logistics and team availability.

Can you train our existing sales or event team?+

Yes. Training and coaching can cover approach, product presentation, qualification, objection handling, closing, upselling, customer experience, hourly targets and event sales reporting.
